These are the serious consequences of the corona crisis

There is still no sign of a relaxation of the strict corona measures in Germany. Stefan Willich, Director of the Charité Institute for Social Medicine, speaks at WELT about health problems and gives tips on how to avoid a problem.

In Spain, the corona virus is raging like no other country in Europe, nowhere are there more infected people. One of them was Pep Guardiola’s mother. She now succumbed to the consequences of the insidious disease.

“Everyone in the club sends his warmest sympathy to Pep and his family during this difficult time,” wrote the English first division club Manchester City.

It was a message to his trainer. Pep Guardiola mourns the loss of his mother Dolors Sala Carrió. The 82-year-old was infected with the corona virus and died as a result of the disease in Manresa near Barcelona.

Guardiola donated a million euros in the fight against the Corona crisis a few days ago. He used the money to support a hospital in his native Barcelona and a Spanish foundation for the purchase of medical equipment.

Spain is the epicenter of the corona pandemic

Spain is one of the countries most affected by the pandemic. It has overtaken Italy as the country with the most corona infections in Europe. Overall, according to an evaluation published by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) on Monday afternoon, there have been 130,759 cases of Sars-CoV-2 infections in Spain, around 1,800 more than in Italy.

Around 12,500 deaths have resulted from the corona pandemic in the country. As can be seen from the figures published on Twitter on Monday, Spain replaced Italy as the European country with the most confirmed infections at the weekend.

Germany was in third place in the evaluation of Monday with more than 95,000 cases of infection. The US University of Johns Hopkins had previously seen the Federal Republic in more than 100,000 cases.
