An increasing number of deaths in West Gujarat, for example, occur because patients with serious illness cannot go to the hospital or are afraid of coming due to fear of contracting.
Data collected from 24 Hindu crematoria and four Muslim graves in the city showed 3,558 deaths in April and 7,150 deaths in May.
As for the same month last year, the reported deaths were 2,784 and 2,706, respectively.
