Daily cases of the Corona virus or COVID-19 in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) today again recorded a record with 830 cases. The number of new Corona cases is the highest during the pandemic in DIY.

The Head of Public Relations of the DIY Regional Government, Ditya Nanaryo Aji, said that there were 830 new cases of Corona today. With this addition, the accumulation of COVID-19 cases in DIY became 57,858 cases.

“Of the 830 cases (spread in) Yogyakarta City, 169 cases, Bantul Regency 278 cases, Kulon Progo Regency 61 cases, Gunungkidul Regency 85 cases, and Sleman Regency 237 cases,” explained Ditya, through a written statement, Sunday (27/6/2021). ).

Although the number of new Corona cases has increased, the daily number of deaths has decreased from Saturday (26/6). Today, there were 19 additional deaths, fewer than yesterday’s 22 cases.

Of the 19 cases of death, four of them were under the elderly. While the rest are elderly people over 50 years old.

“There are 19 deaths with a total of 1,479 deaths,” he said.

In addition, the number of recovered cases has also increased. Today there are an additional 308 cases recovered to 47,462 cases.

On the other hand, the increase in COVID-19 cases has an impact on bed occupancy or bed occupancy rate (BOR) 85.7 percent of the total 1,275 beds. Then the isolation BOR reached 87.7 percent of the total 1,135 beds, and the ICU BOR reached 69.3 percent of the total 140 beds.

2 COVID-19 Referral Hospitals Close Emergency Room Services

There are at least two COVID-19 referral hospitals in DIY that were forced to close ER services. These include Bethesda Hospital and Dr Hardjolukito Hospital.

The closure of the emergency room service at Bethesda Hospital Yogyakarta was announced via their official Instagram account, @rsbethesdajogja. In the announcement, it was stated that the closure of the emergency room was carried out until Monday (28/6) tomorrow at 07.00 WIB. However, the public relations officer of Bethesda Adhiyanto Priambodo Hospital did not respond when asked for confirmation on this matter.

Meanwhile, the public relations officer of the RSPAU, Dr. Hardjolukito, Lieutenant Colonel Kes Wartono, said that this closure was carried out because the capacity for the emergency room service was full. Of the total 10 beds in the IGD RSPAU Hardjolukito, all of them were fully occupied.

“So this afternoon I will make a flyer regarding the closure of the emergency room, the closure is per day until an unspecified time limit,” Wartono said when contacted by reporters, this afternoon.
