IDuring the corona pandemic, the incidence in North Rhine-Westphalia continues to fall. According to figures from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Thursday, the health authorities in the most populous federal state reported 372.8 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. The previous day it was 388 and a week earlier it was 467.6. The four-week comparison also confirms the clear trend: on April 21, the incidence in the state was still 701.9. Most recently, 13,719 infections and 31 deaths related to the corona virus were reported in NRW within 24 hours.
Experts have been assuming for some time that there has been a high number of unrecorded cases of infection – for example because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only these count in the statistics.
