In Portugal, the corona numbers are increasing again
Many people look forward to a pleasant vacation. But a trip to Portugal should perhaps be reconsidered. In the popular holiday destination, the corona numbers are increasing again due to the spread of the more contagious omicron subvariant BA.5.

123,097 corona cases were reported to the RKI yesterday.
A comparison with the previous week results in a 16 percent increase.

The daily value is the highest since April 28thso for more than 7 weeks.
However, the figures are presumably influenced by late registrations after the widespread reporting strikes in the federal states on bridge day weekend.

The 7-day incidence increases significantly from 416 to 486.
It is stagnating in Thuringia. It is increasing in all other 15 federal states.
The plus in the Saarland (which had previously reported no numbers for four days in a row), in the usual volatile Hamburg – and in Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxonywhere the incidences are already highest.
