Could the anti-Covid-19 vaccine become compulsory in Côte d’Ivoire?

Only 3% of the Ivorian population or more than 800,000 people have been vaccinated so far on the national territory four months after the start of the vaccination campaign.

After receiving half a million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines, Côte d’Ivoire received 300,000 new ones and ordered a million more. Delivery is scheduled for this month of July 2021.

For now, Africa imports 99% of its vaccine needs against Covid-19, however; if some African countries manage to obtain authorization to produce vaccines, the non-compulsory nature of the vaccine in force until then could change.
