The couple had twins 20 years ago through in vitro fertilization. They donated eight embryos and now they met the triplets that were born to them.
A couple from the state of Texas (USA) discovered that they are parents of triplets20 years after donating frozen embryos.
Brooke and Chris Martin, in an interview with the network Fox Newsreported that when they were in their early 20s they faced fertility problems and resorted to in vitro fertilization to have a child. Thanks to that, some time later they had twins, reports RT.
However, still they had eight frozen embryos and they had to decide what to do with them: use them, let them thaw, donate them to science, or return them to the fertility clinic. Finally, they opted for the latter alternative because they believed it was the right thing to do.
Now they met their triplets
Twenty years later, a relative told them that a young man had contacted him and said, “Hey, I’m in your family tree. I don’t know if you know someone in your family who has donated embryos or simply given some children,” he says. RT.
The couple immediately searched for the boy, named Thomas, on social media.
“I saw your picture and my husband and I burst into tears and said that was our son. There’s no question, he looked just like our kids,” Brooke said. However, at that point they discovered the boy was a triplet, which meant they had three biological children they didn’t know, says RT.
Triplets, two boys and a girl of 18 years, they grew up with their adoptive parents, who told them about embryo adoption.
