Covid-19: 1,258 new cases, more than 6.5 million people received three doses of the vaccine

Rabat – A total of 1,258 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 691 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said on Sunday, which reports of another death.

In its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation, the ministry further specified that the number of first-timers reached 24,847,676, that of people who received two doses amounted to 23,331,067, while 6,506,589 people received had three injections of the vaccine.

The new infection toll brings the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco on March 02, 2020 to 1,185,990, while the number of recovered people has increased to 1,159,014, i.e. a recovery rate of 97, 7%.

The new cases of infection were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (390), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (435), Marrakech-Safi (169), Fès-Meknes (87), Draâ-Tafilalet (08), Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (79), Souss-Massa (68) Béni Mellal-Khénifra (10), the oriental (08), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (02) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (02).

The total number of deaths rose to 16,087, with one case recorded in 24 hours in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region.

Active cases number 10,889 while severe or critical cases reached 13 in the past 24 hours, bringing their total to 54.

As for the occupancy rate of intensive care beds, it is 1%.
