According to an official note from the Prime Minister’s office, in the morning, António Costa will have hearings with the Liberal Initiative, Chega, the Ecological Party “Os Verdes”, PAN and CDS-PP.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister meets with the PCP, Bloco de Esquerda, PSD and PS.
In an interview with Rádio Renascença last Friday, the Prime Minister pointed out that May 4th “is the deadline” for restarting face-to-face classes in the perspective that the third term can still take place “as normal as possible”.
On Tuesday, at the end of the third technical meeting on the “Epidemiological situation of covid-19 in Portugal”, at Infarmed, the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, stated that, according to experts, it is necessary to maintain the effort of confinement in April to take steps of freedom in May, both in the school system, as in the economic and social activity.
After this series of hearings with the parties, and also following the technical meeting with epidemiologists held at Infarmed, in Lisbon, the Government meets on Thursday in the Council of Ministers to take a decision on the reopening of educational establishments.
