OAKLAND, Calif. – Stephen Curry, star of the Golden State Warriors, is now the all-time NBA leader in three-point shooting in the postseason.
The accurate shot put Ray Allen on that list Saturday night, in the Warriors' victory in Game 1 over the LA Clippers at the Oracle Arena.
Curry entered the game with seven three-pointers behind Allen, but the two-time NBA MVP beat Allen in the third quarter when he sank his eighth of 3 points in the game, giving him 386 shots in his postseason career .
Allen accumulated those three over the course of an 18-year career with 11 playoff appearances. It took Curry only 10 seasons and seven trips to the playoffs to break the record.
Curry was recognized during a timeout and received a standing ovation from the crowd.
He finished the night with 38 points, made eight shots of three, 7 assists and a total of 15 rebounds.
