Riyadh : The Tax and Customs Authority has announced that a special scheme has been introduced to speed up customs clearance procedures at all land, sea and air borders in Saudi Arabia. The new system will complete the procedures to get customs clearance within a maximum of two hours.
According to the Saudi Customs Authority, clearance can be obtained from all land, sea and air customs ports within two hours of reaching the country’s border.
The new system is part of making the country a global logistics platform. The announcement was made ahead of the International Customs Day celebration on January 26 in Riyadh under the leadership of the Tax and Customs Authority. Authority Governor Engineer Suhail Abanmi and representatives of Customs Clearance attended the function. It is implemented by the Tax and Customs Authority in collaboration with various government agencies. The new system is part of making the country a global logistics platform. By 2030, arrangements are being made to complete the customs clearance process within 30 minutes.
Engineer Abanomi said that apart from strengthening the logistics services, many qualitative changes are expected to be achieved through the new change.
