Dallas Stars move into the Stanley Cup final

The Dallas Stars are the first team to move into the Stanley Cup final of the North American ice hockey league NHL.

The Texans won on Monday (local time) 3-2 after extra time against the Vegas Golden Knights and thus prevailed in the “best of seven” series with 4-1 wins.

For a long time it looked as if the Golden Knights could still avert the end. Chandler Stephenson brought the best main round team in the West into the lead in the first third (9th minute) and Reilly Smith increased it to 2-0 15 seconds after the start of the final section. The stars forced extra time thanks to goals from Jamie Benn (50th) and Joel Kiviranta (57th). Denis Guryanov scored the decisive goal for Dallas in overtime (64th).

Tampa Bay also before the final

The stars secured the conference title in the West for the first time since the 1999/2000 season. In the final, they either face the Tampa Bay Lightning or the New York Islanders. Tampa Bay is still missing a victory in the east to reach the final.

Tampa is just missing one win after jump in the NHL finals series
