DEL goalkeeper Haukeland moves to Düsseldorf

Dhe Düsseldorfer EG from the German Ice Hockey League has signed top goalkeeper Henrik Haukeland from runner-up EHC Red Bull Munich. The Norwegian national keeper is moving to DEG for the next two seasons, as the club announced on Friday. Previously, there were already media reports about the upcoming commitment.

“Henrik Haukeland is an outstanding goalkeeper. He won many important games in Munich during the season and the playoffs – also against us – and showed that he can act at the top level,” said DEG sports director Niki Mondt. The 27-year-old Norwegian was one of the best goalkeepers in the league last season. In the main round, he impressed with a goal-against average of 1.41 and a catch rate of 94.5 percent.
