The “Secondary education” project was officially launched on February 23 with three academies before being generalized to all academies in the Kingdom.
Saaïd Amzazi, Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research, the General Director of the Millennium Challenge Account-Morocco Agency (MCA-Morocco), Malika Laasri, and the Director Resident of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) in Morocco, Richard Gaynor chaired, this February 23 in Fez, the official launching ceremony of the deployment of a training plan for the benefit of 6,000 administrative and educational executives mainly from the three Regional Academies of ‘Education and Training (AREF) of Fès-Meknes, Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima and Marrakech-Safi, beneficiaries of the “Secondary Education” project.
This program will be generalized to all academies by the Ministry and this, within the framework of the implementation of project 9 “Renovation of education professions and management of professional paths” of the portfolio of implementation of the law frame 51.17.
The development of this training program aligns with the strategic orientations of the Department of National Education (DEN) in the area of continuing education and in partnership with the National Center for Educational Innovation and Experimentation ( CNIPE) / Central Unit for Management Training (UCFC), the Regional Centers for Education and Training Trades (CRMEF) and the AREFs concerned.
This training program, the sessions of which will be led by 480 trainers rigorously selected at the regional level following calls for applications launched by the DEN, is structured around 26 modules covering three main areas, namely “Pedagogy and didactics “,” Management and leadership “and” Transversal modules “.
It aims to strengthen the capacities and skills of educational and administrative executives working at the level of secondary education establishments, Provincial Directorates, AREFs and CRMEFs concerned, as well as at the central level, to ensure optimal implementation of the program. “Lycée Attahadi” model, main component of the “Secondary Education” project under the “Compact II” cooperation program, with a budget of 450 million dollars financed by the government of the United States of America, represented by MCC , and whose implementation is entrusted to the MCA-Morocco Agency.
This plan, which will be deployed according to a hybrid model (face-to-face and distance learning), will also promote self-training and distance training for educational and administrative players, via the DEN distance training platform.
Along the same lines, a training management application has been designed to ensure the implementation of training at different levels.
The deployment of the “Lycée Attahadi” model also consists of providing integrated support to the target secondary schools, focusing on strengthening their administrative and financial autonomy and promoting a pedagogy centered on the student, as well as on improving the physical environment for learning through adequate rehabilitation of school infrastructure and the supply of computer and teaching equipment necessary for educational innovation.
