The Negotiated
of the Police Department of Public Security (DSP) will be active to
provide security during the days that matches are held between Los
Cleveland Indians and the Minnesota Twins of Major League Baseball
at the Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan, reported this unit. The area
Police of San Juan, during the days 17 and 18 April, will be in charge of the
security and traffic control in the areas surrounding the Stadium,
while the Municipal Police of San Juan will be in charge of security in the
municipal facilities. The Negotiated
will be present at Roosevelt Avenue, Teniente César González street and the
avenida Andalucía, on the nearby roads and in the commercial area nearby
to the place where the sporting event will take place. “At
Police Bureau we have developed a plan so that the games of
Major League baseball held in Puerto Rico is a success at what
security is concerned. I have delegated to the Commander of the San Juan Area,
Lieutenant Colonel Juan Cáceres, the logistics of security in the perimeter
of the Hiram Bithorn Stadium and the logistics of the vehicular flow of
Busy streets leading to the place of the event. The plan has been designed
so that people and drivers can travel without major
difficulties, “said the interim commissioner of the Bureau, Henry Escalera
Rivera. Meanwhile, the
Secretary of the DSP, Héctor M. Pesquera, trusted that “among citizens,
The members of the Bureau and the Municipal Police will achieve the dynamics to
that a sporting event be held in an environment for the enjoyment of
everybody”.
