Two years after launching its first wireless headphones, the French audio specialist Devialet is joining forces with Huawei for the second generation. The FreeBuds Pro 2 are the result of the collaboration between the two companies.
By entering the sights of the United States, Huawei could have signed its death warrant. Completely smothered in the smartphone market, the Chinese manufacturer has seen its market share plummet and its international future darken. Three years after its inclusion on commercial and military blacklists, Huawei is still in the same situation in 2022. Its historical activity, the smartphone, is at a standstill.
As crazy as it sounds, Huawei is not dead. Unlike other Chinese brands, the manufacturer has the advantage of having several strings to its bow. For several months, it has multiplied launches in new sectors (computers, headphones, speakers, watches, screens, etc.) in order to become a universal high-tech brand, even without a smartphone. In audio, Huawei has even managed to find a rare partnership with Devialet, one of the most recognized French brands on the planet.

Since the arrival of Apple AirPods in 2016, the market for wireless headphones has been extremely active. All the brands launch these easy-to-design products, which makes the market very difficult to understand. Beyond Apple, Samsung and the audio giants, the other manufacturers only have very small market shares.
