DFB Pokal, 1st round: broadcast, TV, live stream

The 2020/21 season opens with the first round of the DFB Pokal. A week before the start of the Bundesliga season, it’s David against Goliath again. SPOX gives you all the information about transmission on TV and live stream.

DFB Pokal, 1st round: When do the games take place?

Due to the corona pandemic, the first round of the DFB Cup this season will not start in August, but only in September. Otherwise everything stays as usual. That means: The games will take place one week before the start of the Bundesliga and will be played from Friday to Monday.

The two Bundesliga clubs Mainz 05 and Hertha BSC will give the go-ahead on Friday, before Borussia Dortmund will round off the first round on Monday evening.

The game of FC Bayern is an exception. Since the Munich team was still successful in the Champions League final tournament in Lisbon in August, the meeting of the record winner was postponed one month to October 15. The 2nd round will take place on December 22nd and 23rd.

Both the ARD as well as Sport1 Rights to broadcasts of the DFB Cup. The two free TV channels show two games live in the first round.
