For months now there have been reports about a bitter feud between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton. Sources have leaked information almost daily about why the duchesses are supposedly at odds. Most people though are cautious not to believe everything they read but others feel if there was ever any truth to the sisters-in-law feuding someone in the family would surely put a stop to it. That person may just have been Prince Charles.
Here’s what’s being said about their father-in-law stepping in to make peace and what the palace is doing to combat social media attacks against the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex.
Prince Charles told them to end feud?
The claim that Markle and Middleton are no longer at war because the Prince of Wales told them to knock it off comes from royal biographer,
The author told Australia’s Sunrise that he believes there’s some truth behind what
“I think there’s no smoke without fire,” Jobson said. “I do think it has been blown up a little bit, but there have obviously been a few problems between the two ladies … There’s some truth in the rumors. I’m sure at Christmas Prince Charles was knocking heads together and you can see that by those photographs of them all walking together in a line. They looked like they had been pushed together in a line, to be honest.”
They may not be feuding
Despite this claim, it’s important to remember that no one knows for sure if the duchesses really were feuding in the first place and all this chatter could be nothing more than rumors.
The ladies may not be best of friends but that’s no reason to think they dislike each other. In fact, to counter these reports some outlets have claimed that it’s not Middleton or Markle who are feuding but it’s their husbands, Princes William
Palace is monitoring social media amid rumors
Although many senior royals don’t have personal social media accounts there are still deplorable comments being made about them on there as well as threats aimed at both Markle and Middleton. For this reason, palace staffers monitor as much as possible online and delete all violent, sexist, and racist comments directed at either of the women.
“The Palace has always monitored comments but it’s a hugely time-consuming thing. They can block certain words, but some of it is quite serious,” a source told Hello! magazine. “Over the course of last year, with hundreds of thousands of comments, there were two or three that were violent threats. You can delete and report and block people and the police have options around particular people. It’s something you have to manage because there’s no other way to control it.”
