Didier Samuel appointed Head of Inserm

Biography

A doctor, professor and researcher, Didier Samuel has dedicated his entire career to both his work in healthcare and research. As a Professor of Hepatology at Université Paris-Saclay, the Head of the Physiopathogenesis and Treatment of Liver Diseases research unit (Université Paris-Saclay/Inserm), the Head of the Hepatology and Liver Intensive Care unit and of the liver transplant programme at Paul-Brousse hospital, Didier Samuel has been Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Université Paris-Saclay since 2017. He was elected President of the Conference of Deans of Schools of Medicine in 2022, and also chaired the National Research Coordination Committee.

He is a world-renowned specialist in liver disease and transplants.
