just because something isn’t on netflix NOW doesn’t mean it couldn’t be there next year. so by stealing it now, netflix can’t make any money from it later..

this argument is of course only valid to a certain extent, if you want to watch something such as cabaret then it is often time-bound, for example it is about social themes that are playing NOW, not in 10 years… in short, if you don’t have the money to buy a DVD buy then you would never have bought a copy and a download is therefore not actually a missed sale… (that still doesn’t make it legal, but it does take away the damage…

even if you see the latest season 7 of series x being released on netflix but seasons 1 to 4 are not on it .. then it is difficult to start at 5 – because then you miss large parts of the story … in short that seems to me an obvious reason to claim that a download can even be ‘good’ in that case, after all: you had no legal opportunity to start the series, apparently they want you to be able to watch the series… voilla ..

Personally, I believe that it is high time to give certain content companies more options in the EU…

if you want to broadcast Game of thrones season 7 as netflix, you can also broadcast 1 to 6. film x will be released in the first cinema… then neflix can also broadcast it… (of course for the same amount per viewing).. in short, if pathé charges 17 euros per ticket for the latest x… and they pay 3.5 of that ticket to disney… then netflix, amazon and rtl can do the same…

if you know that an average family has about 3 people then netflix pays 10.5 per stream if research shows that on average only 1.3 people watch a stream then they pay 3.5x 1.3 = ~4, 6

Anyway, I think we need to get rid of that perverse lust of the big hollywoods and other nonsense companies… just set a price and everyone can consume it regardless of place and source.

media, and entertainment is there to be consumed, the question should never be if…but at most at what cost…look at how music is doing…someone makes a nice song, other artist thinks that I can do much better… want to do a cover and get a shitload of lawyers on his roof…
