Broiler litter (PL) is an organic compound used as a soil amendment, whose nutrient content and low price allow it to be considered as an alternative to the use of fertilizers. The use of PL as a fertilizer allows to reduce the risk of environmental contamination in the storage areas. In this work, the effect on dry matter (DM) production and nutrient concentration in maize (Zea mays L.) for silage, and availability of N, P and K in a volcanic soil (Tipic Melanoxerands) of the zone is compared. south central Chile, obtained with PL, conventional fertilizers and a control without fertilization.
