Doctors told me what vaccines Primorye can do for free

Within the framework of the European Immunization Week, activities will be held in Primorye to raise public awareness of immunization for health, and will be held in the province from April 23 to 29.
This year, the European Immunization Week (EIW) is held under the slogan: “Vaccines work” and “Vaccination is not only a right, but also a collective duty!”.

“Immunization is widely recognized as one of the most successful and effective health measures to preserve people’s lives and health. The use of vaccines has reduced and, in some cases, completely eliminated a number of diseases from which children and adults previously suffered and died, “noted the head of the epidemiological surveillance department of the territorial administration Rospotrebnadzor Valentine the Voronoke.
She stressed that due to routine immunization in Primorye, such diseases as diphtheria, hepatitis B among young children, poliomyelitis, congenital rubella, virtually no measles are registered.
The head of the regional center for vaccine prevention Evgeny Vorobyev emphasized the vaccinations that Primorye can do for free.
“Today the national calendar contains information on preventive vaccinations against 12 infections and all the necessary information on the timing of their conduct. These are tuberculosis, hepatitis B, pneumococcal infection, whooping cough, diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis, measles, mumps, rubella, influenza, hemophilia. From these diseases, Primorye people are vaccinated free of charge, “she said.

Evgenia Anatolyevna stressed that vaccinations should be made not only by children, but also by adults.
“It is important to remember that there are compulsory vaccinations in adulthood. Such as – hepatitis B, rubella (it is put to people under 55 years old), and also rubella (up to 25 years), “the doctor added.
In Primorye, there are cases each year when young children suffer serious illnesses.
“This is mainly due to the fact that many parents still inadequate to vaccinations, do not understand that they are very important for children. For example, pneumococcus causes many serious diseases. And the vaccine just can protect our children from them, “- emphasized the problem of pediatrician Vladivostok children’s polyclinic № 5 Olga Gorlova.

“Eliminating the immunization gaps is the goal of this week,” experts say.
As the representative of the regional center of medical prophylaxis Tatiana Mineeva , during the whole week in the medical organizations there will be consultation of the population on immunization issues, informing about the national vaccination calendar, prevention of refusals from vaccination and many other things. In schools, a questionnaire of schoolchildren will be held, which is intended to reveal the level of students’ awareness of vaccinations.
