For his film “The Balcony Movie”, director Paweł Łoziński placed his camera on his Warsaw balcony and filmed those who passed his house over a period of two years: young and old, men, women, children, poor, rich, happy and Desperate, neighbors and passers-by. Some of them came only once, others almost became good acquaintances. Although the documentary was made before the pandemic, it shows how much closeness can be created from a distance – but also the limits of this approach. “The Balcony Movie” was awarded the MDR Prize “Best Eastern European Film” at DOK Leipzig 2021.
