Krefeld. At the weekend the German Cheersport Championships took place in the Mitsubishi Electric HALLE in Düsseldorf. The Dolphins cheerleaders from SC Bayer 05 Uerdingen secured five podium places, including three German championship titles.
A total of seven Dolphins teams were represented at the German Championship and the CCVD Cup Championship. Five of the teams took part in the competitions for the German championship title:
The Loony Dolphins were able to defend their German championship title in a row with a powerful performance in the highest junior category in level 5.
The Dolphins Coed (mixed team of male and female athletes) was also able to continue the successful streak of this season and now also adorn themselves with the German championship title in addition to the state and regional championship title.
The Little Dolphins achieved a sensational result in the Peewee Level 2 category. After a total of ten participations, they can finally call themselves German champions. “Years of hard work in this strong category is paying off. We are incredibly proud of the athletes and trainers!”, sports director Chantal Filipiak praises the work in the youth division.
The Dolphins Allstars and the Luminous Dolphins did not go quite so smoothly. They were not able to call up their performances on the day as desired and achieved 4th and 5th place in the strong categories.
At the CCVD Germany Cup Championship, the densely populated lower levels of the respective age groups competed. The Foxy Dolphins were able to prevail against 23 competing teams in the Peewee Level 0 category and were happy about the runner-up title in the cup championship.
In the junior division, the Laudable Dolphins were also able to secure a podium place for the first time in level 3 with a flawless performance and leave 11 other teams behind. The girls were visibly touched by their third place result.
Now that the association’s cheersport series has officially ended, the Dolphins teams are training for other upcoming championships, the Cheerleading Worlds in April in Orlando/Florida and the Elite Cheerleading Championship, which will be held at Pentecost in the Moviepark in Bottrop.
