The daughter of President Soekarno alias Bung Karno, Sukmawati Soekarnoputri, who is officially a Hindu, asked religious people in Indonesia not to become arrogant adherents of religion.
He conveyed this after carrying out a religious conversion procession at Sudhi Wadani in Singaraja, Bali, Tuesday (26/10/2021).

He reiterated that religious adherents in Indonesia must continue to respect other religious minorities.
“Indeed, Indonesia is diverse, tolerant well. Don’t let the majority become an arrogant majority, then not tolerate the minority,” he said, as adapted, Wednesday (27/10/2021).
He continued, he emphasized that religious tolerance is one of the strengths of the Indonesian nation.

Therefore, he emphasized that harmony between religious communities must be maintained.
“But we must have good tolerance, because we are one brother nation throughout the Indonesian archipelago. So, that’s what Bung Karno always instilled,” he said.
