DPR Closed Meeting Discusses Election Stages at 5-Star Hotel Jakarta

Commission II DPR holding a stage consignment meeting Election 2024 together with the Ministry of Home Affairs, KPU, Bawaslu, and DKPP at a five-star hotel in Jakarta.

To quote the news agency Between, the meeting was held at Ayana Mid Plaza Hotel on Friday-Sunday (13-15 May 2022). On Friday and Saturday, the meeting is scheduled to start at 09,000 WIB until 22.00 WIB.

Then on Sunday, the meeting is held at 09.00-12.00 WIB.

The agenda for the meeting discussed the draft KPU Regulation (PKPU) regarding the stages, programs and schedule of the 2024 General Election.

Previously, Deputy Chairman of Commission II DPR RI Junimart Girsang said the consignment meeting would indeed be held outside the Parliament Complex and take place behind closed doors.

The meeting was also held during the recess to speed up the discussion of the 2024 election schedule. It is known that the DPR recess period will only be completed on 17 May.

It will only be held open on May 18, the DPR Commission II Meeting Room at the Parliament Complex to follow up on the results of the consignment meeting.

Separately, Member of Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Zulfikar Arse Sadikin, a meeting needs to be held immediately considering that the election stages will begin next month or June 2022.

“Because we have to start at the latest 20 months before February 2024. Yes, we ask that the PKPU draft must be discussed and something has been completed,” he said when contacted by CNNIndonesia.com.

Similarly, the Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Hasyim Asy’ari also stated that the KPU will hold a meeting with the DPR regarding the stages and budget of the election.

“So God willing, May 13 to 15, Friday to Sunday tomorrow. The focus is on discussing two things, the stages of the election and the budget,” said Hasyim at the Ministry of Home Affairs office today.
