A four-year-old girl stayed for two days next to her dead mother in an apartment in Upper Austria. The child was freed after the 39-year-old woman’s father was unable to reach his daughter, police confirmed on Thursday.
The “Kronen Zeitung” had first reported on the case. The woman, who lived in Wels, suffered from a serious illness.
The woman’s father called the police, who broke into her apartment and found the girl there next to the dead woman. The child was taken to a hospital for a check-up, but was well and has been placed with relatives, police said. The investigators ruled out suicide or third-party negligence as the cause of the mother’s death. (SDA)
