This Monday, July 19, ended the deadline for the delivery of binding offers for the acquisition of 71.73% of Efacec. Yesterday, the two Portuguese groups DST, from Braga, and the Sing-Investimentos Globais of the family that controls Sodecia delivered binding proposals.
So far there is no confirmation that only two proposals have been received.
Jornal Económico knows that Iberdrola was up to the last minute deciding whether or not to deliver the binding proposal. It was not possible to confirm that you have submitted the proposal. According to our sources, diplomatic contacts may have come to exist with the Spanish authorities, who viewed with good eyes an industrialist in the energy sector involved in the process.
The State wants to speed up the process of selling Efacec and intends for the operation to be concluded this quarter, according to Jornal Económico. The Ministry of Finance has until September 2 to make a decision on the winner of the process.
Market sources say the state may try to bundle the binding bids to create a stronger offer.
