Cases of children involved in accidents, such as the recent one at the Bachgraben garden pool in Basel, are particularly tragic. Do we need more bath attendants in the baths to prevent something like this?
This is also a question of finances. However, I believe that most pools in Switzerland employ enough staff. That’s what people expect when they visit the bathroom. However, it is important to keep pointing out that the accompanying persons have a duty of supervision. From a certain number of bathers, the overview becomes difficult or impossible. When it’s hot, the baths get huge crowds. There are dynamics of their own that cannot be estimated.
