Who would have thought that after the first round? Thanks to a 3-2 away win at FC Ingolstadt 04, Dynamo Dresden has worked its way up to a direct promotion spot.
Linsmayer and Will meet early
The game started anything but well for the Saxons. Linsmayer made it 1-0 for the hosts in the 5th minute, but Dynamo was unimpressed and immediately hit back. Paul Will took heart from 25 meters and welded the play equipment into the net for a quick equalizer (10th).
Both teams then pushed for the lead, but it was Ahmet Arslan who managed to score again. The top scorer in the league refined a Kutschke pass in the 40th minute to make it 1:2. In injury time in the first half, Dresden’s Conteh hit the post and the visitors took a narrow lead into the dressing room.
Dynamo Dresden on direct promotion place
In the 59th minute, Lemmer made it 3-1 for the supposed preliminary decision in favor of the Saxons, but only three minutes later things got exciting again. The only 19-year-old Donald Nduka scored in his second third division game to make it 2:3 and fueled the Schanzer’s hope of winning a point.
After that, however, the guests were closer to scoring the fourth goal than Ingolstadt were to equalizing, especially since the home side had to act outnumbered from the 82nd minute. Sulejmani was sent off with yellow-red and we will miss the Schanzern in Zwickau at the weekend.
Dynamo Dresden improved with the 3:2 away win Rang 3which is currently a direct promotion place, since SC Freiburg II is not eligible for promotion.
