Electronic Arts has signed a new partnership with Middle-Earth Enterprises, the company that owns the rights to Tolkien’s writing. The publisher immediately got to work with these rights. The first fruits of the collaboration should already be reaped by next summer.
In this case it concerns The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-Earth. It is a mobile game that collectible role-playing will be and a strategic, social-competitive experience must prepare. So no PC or console version in the pipeline.
The renewed collaboration offers many possibilities. It should be noted, however, that this collaboration is explicitly focused on the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit books. The rights of the film and the accompanying actors are not owned by EA. So don’t expect Elijah Wood or Ian McKellan on your screen.
