Ed Sheeran has said how he wished his character had been "brutally and brutally murdered" on Game of Thrones to reassure viewers unimpressed by his cameo.
The Shape of You singer was a one-time appearance during the seventh premiere of the HBO show.
Sheeran appeared as a Lannister Soldier, over which Masie Williams's character stumbled.
Speaking to Buzzfeed about his performance, the 27-year-old said: "I know what Game of Thrones fans thought of my character.
"I'm sure they think my character was savagely brutally murdered, but I think my character is still out there, I think he's chilled.
"It was fun to be in Game of Thrones, but I definitely think they should have killed me in the episode, and I think that would probably be the salvation for people who do not like it."
At the time, viewers expressed their confusion when they saw such non-theatrical talent appear in their favorite fantasy show.
One user wrote, "Watching Ed Sheeran in the throne game was the biggest moment of my existence!"
Another commented: "#GameOfThones Writing room: Ok we are beyond the books, we have creative control. Concept: Ed Sheeran camps in the woods and sings a song. "
A third added, "#GameOfThones @edsheeran Ed Sheeran can miss a beat every century !!! "
Sheeran's comments come when he won a nomination for the American Music Award with his friend Taylor Swift.
The best friends discussed being nominated for a hike together with the plan rapper Drake.
The couple quickly announced that the others will win before agreeing that "Drake will win".
Swift went on mocking her best friend because she could not keep up during the long walk.
Swift recorded his struggles in an Instagram video in which she joked, "Are you alright, brother?"
The question led to Sheeran Swift pointing her finger and leaving the pop feeling in stitches.
The 28-year-old then went on to scoff: "It means practice, have you ever done cardio?"
Insisting that he did "cardio" every now and then, Swift told Shape Of You, "Strumming a Guitar does not count."
