While Eintracht Frankfurt is fighting for the Champions League, those responsible behind the scenes are planning the squad for the coming season.

Frankfurt / Stuttgart – Eintracht Frankfurt have conceded 47 goals this season. That is the second worst value among the ten best teams of the current Bundesliga season. Martin Hinteregger, Stefan Ilsanker & Co. are considered a stable defensive, but above all the good offensive around Andre Silva, Filip Kostic and Daichi Kamada – with a total of 62 hits – ensures that the goal difference of the SGE is so positive.

Although Eintracht is still in the fight for international business, preferably one would like to achieve the Champions League on the Main for the first time in SGE history, but the plans for the coming season are already underway. Numerous names are currently traded in Frankfurt – including that of defender Marc-Oliver Kempf. The 26-year-old central defender, who played for the SGE between 2010 and 2014 and comes from the district of Gießen, is one of the regular defensive staff at VfB Stuttgart. Only the Swabians are worse in the top 10 of the league in terms of goals against (51).

Eintracht Frankfurt: Kempf as the new head of defense? – VfB wants to extend

Kempf is left-footed, a rare species among center-backs, and has an outstanding opening. In addition, he is very robust and can cope with beefy strikers in duels. The online portal Transfermarkt.de brought his name into circulation. Accordingly, Eintracht Frankfurt seems to be interested in the 1.86 meter tall defender. So far, no official in the SGE has commented on this rumor. Apparently they seem to be satisfied with the current staff. However, it is unclear which defensive specialists Eintracht will be retained. For example, Evan Ndicka has been ensnared by clubs from the Premier League for some time, and Arsenal FC is said to play a central role in this. What applies to the poaching attempts by Andre Silva, for example from Atletico Madrid or Wolverhampton Wanderers, also counts for Ndicka: Should Frankfurt reach the Champions League, these players will most likely stay on the Main.

Since there are still three games to play in the Bundesliga, it is unclear whether there may be a need for action in defense. Meanwhile, it seems unlikely, if the SBU should show actual interest, that Kempf will come to harmony – among other things, because there are well-known competition from abroad: As the kicker reports, Lazio is interested in Kempf. His contract expires in Stuttgart in 2022. VfB is currently trying to extend the contract with him. Sports director Sven Mislintat recently told the Stuttgarter Nachrichten: “We would like to extend the contract with Kempfi and after good discussions have now submitted a concrete offer to him in writing.”

While there is speculation about new defense personnel, a new goalkeeper is also associated with Eintracht Frankfurt. It’s about the goalkeeping legend Gianluigi Buffon from Juventus Turin: What is going on between Buffon and the SGE. (do)
