Elections in Italy. Lisicki: Eurocrats sniff fascism

The Italian center-right, which won the parliamentary elections on Sunday, will receive 235 seats in the 400-seat Chamber of Deputies and 112 in the 200-seat Senate, the Italian Interior Ministry announced on Monday after all votes were counted. These data mean that the center-right, led by the victorious Italian Brothers party of Giorgia Meloni, will be able to form a government without any problems. This coalition will also include the League and Forza Italia as well as smaller groups. In the Chamber of Deputies, the center-left will have 80 seats and the Five Star Movement will have 51. In the Senate, the center-left will have 39 seats and the Five Star Movement – 28.

Von der Leyen scares Italy

The storm caused by the words of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on the parliamentary elections in Italy has also been going on for several years. The head of the European Commission made it quite clear that if the “EU-skeptical” forces were victorious, the European Commission may decide to block funds for Rome. – We will see what will be the result of the elections in Italy. If things go in a difficult direction, we have the tools, as in the case of Hungary and Poland, said a German politician who visited America’s Princeton University on Thursday.

Lisicki on the words of Von der Leyen: It’s stupid

The result of the elections in Italy is today’s topic of “Polska Do Rzeczy”. – This time we will follow our national anthem from Italy to Poland. We are talking about the success of Giorgia Meloni. I like this operetta element. It’s a classic theater. Such, for example, Berlusconi is in the game all the time – said Paweł Lisicki, editor-in-chief of “Do Rzeczy”.

– Panic broke out before the elections. Ursula von der Leyen let go of her nerves and threatened sanctions. I would like to point out that in relation to Poland and Hungary these tools did not work, quite the opposite. The Hungarians have never been so close behind Orban as they are now. In Poland, I also have the impression that PiS is serving this campaign – noted Rafał Ziemkiewicz. – On the one hand, it is stupid because it is completely ineffective. On the other hand, the awl sometimes comes out of the bag. When it comes to key moments, Ursula von der Leyen is a type of nightmare eurocrat who tells how to vote – Lisicki added.
