In the forests on the territory of Yakutia, a regional emergency mode was introduced due to forest fires. The corresponding decree was signed today by the head of the republic, Aisen Nikolaev, the press service of the local administration reports.
Emergencies of a regional nature include those cases that do not extend beyond the territory of one constituent entity of the Russian Federation, as noted in the resolution “On emergency situations in forests that arose as a result of forest fires”.
“Aisen Nikolaev instructed the republic’s government to take measures to extinguish forest fires and prevent threats to settlements under the emergency conditions in regional forests,” it was reported.
The decree was introduced in connection with an increase in the number and area of forest fires due to “adverse weather conditions with dry thunderstorms” in the republic. According to the press service, 30 forest fires are extinguished in Yakutia on a total area of 1,519 hectares.
