1. Emmerdale: Cain is forced to confess

A dramatic week in the Dales begins when Debbie, after her recent decision to report Joe as a missing person, is asked to identify a body. Cain saves Debbie the heartbreak by identifying the body himself and later explaining that it was not Joe.

As they contemplate the events of the day, Debbie trusts her father that she will never get over Joe and he eventually breaks and reveals that he has killed her fiancée and he never returns. (We still hope differently.)

Kain's confession opens a big new split in the Dingle family, and life for the clan may never be the same – especially when Debbie discovers Moira knew it too.

2. Coronation Street: Sally was targeted in the Jail Knife horror

For Sally's future, it's a good time to spend this week as her relatives desperately try to get a confession from Duncan and his "dead" wife, May, who reappears after last week's traffic accident. Tim, Sophie and Gina are still hoping to gather enough evidence to secure Sally's release from prison – but they'd rather do it quickly, as their lives behind bars will get worse than ever.

Sally cornered, when no one else is there, the drug dealer Marcia pushes her with a knife after her. Will Sally be fine?

3. EastEnders: Evie's evil games continue

5. Neighbors: Elly takes control of the siege

It's a high stakes week on Ramsay Street after filming Terese at the Waterhole. Even after Terese was hospitalized and her assailant Ivan caught, the brother of villain Raymond is still there, posing a dangerous threat to all.

Raymond holds a host of characters hostage in Harold's Cafe, including Elly, Chloe, Yashvi and Kirsha. Elly bravely takes control of the situation by trying to chat with Raymond and challenges him to leave as many hostages as possible. Can she make sure that the dangerous Renshaws do not claim casualties?

6. Emmerdale: Charity is planning a proposal

Charity's feelings for Vanessa are stronger than ever after the recent stab wound, and she still has food for thought when Chas encourages her to prove it to her soul mate. Charity decides it's time for a suggestion – and she's not afraid to use some unusual tactics to impress Vanessa.

When Charity finds out that a Home Farm customer is planning a sophisticated proposal on the estate, he locks it in a cupboard (at least this is not a shipping box or trunk) and steals the big moment for himself – complete with horse, cart and a flash mob. Will Vanessa say yes? In the meantime, the trapped guy wants to inquire about the refund policy …

7. Coronation Street: Daniel is lying to Sinead because of her baby

Sinead's baby is born prematurely when she receives the sad news that her cancer has spread and she needs to start radiotherapy immediately. Daniel is facing a worrying time as pressure increases as he fears he might lose his wife and son.

Sinead and Daniel's baby are brought safely, but Daniel is later privately told that the little boy has a bowel condition and the doctors are worried about him. Since he decides that Sinead can no longer accept bad news, Daniel deliberately refrains from doing so – much to the disapproval of Tracy. How would Sinead feel if she knew that Daniel has secrets?

8. EastEnders: Mick breaks down in front of Linda

9. Hollyoaks: Mercedes is lying to her family

Careing Sylver gives up his new job chairs for The Hutch to take care of Mercedes, who feels guilty when she tells Max and Bobby that she'll soon feel better. Nevertheless, Mercedes is still tempted by the drugs – are their problems just beginning?

10. Home and away: Willow is about to relapse

(Wednesday at 1:15 pm and 6:00 pm on channel 5)

Willow's stress level is extremely high as she continues to move away from her old flame Dean just to make her jealous partner Justin happy. Willow falls back into old habits and tries to play again.
