In order to promote physical and mental health, the authorities of the Ministry of Health in conjunction with the Central American Integration System (SICA), launched this Monday the Emotional Well-being week.

The objective of the initiative is to promote self-care, emotional well-being and mental health in the health personnel of the eight member states of the Central American Integration System.

“This is a commitment made by all the countries in the region as of 2018, and in this year, especially due to the situation in all countries and the world, it was established that the issue was related to mental health, where it was will develop with topics that have to do with a focus on mental health, a healthy lifestyle, adequate nutrition, physical activities that help us improve health responses and is aimed at health personnel “, highlighted Martha Reyes, Minister of Health.

“This difficult pandemic situation demands that we be more supportive, and also reinvent ourselves, take advantage of the virtual institutional communication channels, social networks, and of course the traditional mass communication media to inform and educate society on sensitive issues for development of the population, such as health, “emphasized Dr. Alejandro Solís, of the Council of Ministers of Health of Central America and the Dominican Republic.

In addition, it has been planned to recognize all health workers, with a tribute for their dedication and sacrifice at the service of patients treated by the coronavirus and for being on the front line of response to the pandemic.

From September 7 to 11, a series of virtual and inclusive activities will be carried out focused on promoting healthy lifestyles, for the prevention of diseases and death caused by Covid-19.
