A stabbing attack left six seriously injured in Annecy, Haute-Savoie, on Thursday. Among the victims, there are four children, one of whom is only 22 months old.

A heavy toll. Thursday morning, six people were seriously injured in a stabbing attack by a Syrian refugee and occurred in a busy park in Annecy, Haute-Savoie. Among those wounded, four young children.

• Four children injured, including two “in vital emergency”

The youngest victim is only 22 months old, it is the little Peter. A Dutch national, he was transferred to Geneva, Switzerland, for hospitalization. Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne told the press this Friday morning that “they were all able to be operated on”. She assures that they are currently in “stable condition”.

Apart from Peter, the other three children first received a first surgery in Annecy, before being transferred to the University Hospital of Grenoble. Among them are two cousins ​​of French nationality: the young Enniusjust 2 years old, and little Alba, who is 2 and a half years old. Both were considered this Friday morning in serious condition and the vital risk had still not been ruled out for either of them.

“The last news I have (…), there would be two more children who would be considered in absolute urgency, in vital emergency”, assured this Friday morning the spokesman of the government Olivier Véran on France Info.

Later in the day, Emmanuel Macron, however, gave “positive” news of the injured people, assuring that they were “stabilized”.

Finally comes the little one Ettie, a 3-year-old British girl. In his case, the vital prognosis is no longer engaged.

• A man stabbed and hit by a stray bullet

The other two victims are two adults of French nationality. One, called Youssouf, is 78 years old and has only minor injuries that did not require hospitalization.

The other was less fortunate. Manuel, 70, not only received stab wounds from the assailant, but was also hit by a stray bullet fired by a member of law enforcement. The septuagenarian was hospitalized in absolute emergency. After being operated on, his condition is currently stabilized.
