Before the previous season, the Latvian center took the 50th position in the ESPN rating, but the best indicator for Porzingis was before 2017/2018. season, when he ranked 22nd.
“Porzingis was great after joining the Wizards at the end of the trade deadline. He averaged 22.1 points, shot 60.6% from the field, which would be the best of his career,” writes ESPN about the Latvian’s performance last season. “Porzingis didn’t play any of the 17 games for the Wizards with Bradley Beal, and it will be worth seeing how they will fit together.”
Representing the Dallas Mavericks and Washington Wizards, Porzingis appeared in 51 games last season, averaging 20.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.6 blocks.
Meanwhile, the Lithuanian center Jons Valančuns from the New Orleans Pelicans has dropped to the 84th place from the 74th position a year ago in the ESPN rating, while his compatriot Domants Sabonis from the Sacramento “Kings” occupies the 47th place, which is seven positions lower than in 2021.
The top 25 has yet to be announced by ESPN.
