Euromillions jackpot: it’s a Briton who won the 215 million euros

The lucky one of the year is… British. It is indeed a subject of His Majesty who won the 215.8 million euros put into play this Tuesday, May 10 during the Euromillions draw.

He thus became the biggest winner across the Channel in the history of this lottery, after playing the winning numbers: 3 – 25 – 27 – 28 – 29, with 4 and 9 as lucky stars.

The absolute record is held by a Polynesian

The previous record in the UK was nearly 200 million euros and was won in 2019 by a lucky guy who chose to remain anonymous. The absolute record is held by a player who validated her ticket to French Polynesia in October 2021. She had won the sum of 220 million.

Before her, a man from the south of France had won 200 million in December 2020. Since the creation of Euromillions in 2004, 114 of the 589 jackpots won have been won by French people. Enough to make France the luckiest country in Europe, tied with the United Kingdom.

Note, however, that this Friday, May 13, the most “modest” sum of 18 million will be at stake.
