In addition to Covid-19, Tuberculosis (TB) can result in death.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – Not only the Covid-19 case has not yet been completed. However, Indonesia is also faced with the problem of cases of Tuberculosis (TB) which can result in death.

The government through the Ministry of Health only found about 67 percent of TB cases in Indonesia. Director of Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Dr. Wiendra Waworuntu said that the death rate due to TB was quite high at least every hour there were 13 people in Indonesia who died of TB cases.

Although drugs are available, Wiendra assessed that many people are reluctant to seek treatment for various reasons, one of which is inadequate access. He also regretted that only about 67 percent of TB cases were identified but the remainder were still roaming and transmitting.
