Ex-national goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand takes on teenagers: “I’m shaken!”
Ex-national player and former goalkeeper of VfB Stuttgart, Timo Hildebrand, gets into an argument with a 14-year-old teenager on Instagram.
Stuttgart – Timo Hildebrand is a legend in Stuttgart. With the VfB the goalkeeper was German champion in 2007, he also wore seven metersal the jersey of the German national team.
The now 40-year-old has long since ended his career and is involved with the organization “Peta” for animal welfare and is a partner and market ambassador in the company “Veganz”. Factory farming is a very important topic for Hildebrand, which he likes to explain.
This was felt on Tuesday by a 14-year-old who got into a discussion with him on Instagram. The ex-VfB kicker wrote on the subject of the coronavirus: “I hope so much that we humans finally change. Now we have the chance. Veganism saves me.” Background: The animal rights activists from “Peta” and Hildebrand blame the meat industry for the virus outbreak. According to information from the Robert Koch Institute, however, what was really the trigger for the corona epidemic is still far from clear.
However, Hildebrand’s post sparked a completely different discussion. “What should farmers live on if everyone is vegan?” Asked the 14-year-old, who says he is also already working in agriculture.
Hildebrand has a clear answer to this: “About something else!”, Wrote the 40-year-old and continued: “Just so that they can keep their jobs, should we continue to slaughter animals and ruin the world?”
Subsequently, the teenager claimed that there would be more animals than humans if they are not slaughtered.
Ex-footballer Hildebrand lost all understanding: “Are you serious? You are 14 years old, right? Animals are bred to be slaughtered afterwards. 99 percent of the meat comes from fattening farms! There are few or no farms where Animals die of natural causes. ”
Then the teenager got angry too: “Yes, I’m 14 years old. Do you have a problem with that? I work in agriculture, so I have a better idea of what I’m talking about,” he wrote.
Hildebrand was simply “shocked” by the boy’s statements, as he said in his Instagram story.
In any case, the two can no longer come up with a common denominator.
In May last year, TAG24 spoke to Hildebrand in an interview among other things on the subject of veganism.
