[ジュネーブ 28日 ロイター] – A senior Belarusian government official said on Monday that rebels’ claims that a drone attacked a Russian spy plane were false information.

The leader of the Belarusian rebel group BYPOL, Alexander Azarov, said that “partisans” used drones to attack a Russian A50 early warning and control aircraft after an explosion at an airfield outside the capital Minsk over the weekend.

Belarus’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ambradzevic told Reuters on the sidelines of the UN disarmament talks held there: “With no official response, this is also a fake (information) to highlight failures in our security. I am very confident,” he said.

“The loss of the A-50 would be a blow, given its importance to Russia’s air campaign,” said a British military intelligence service, although there was no official confirmation of the attack or damage to the reconnaissance aircraft. “There will likely be six A-50s in service, further constraining Russia’s air strike campaign,” he said.
