Monegasque playmaker Cesc Fabregas has admitted that Jorginho’s arrival has accelerated his exit from Chelsea.
Fabregas left Stamford Bridge in January 2019, ending his five-year stay at the club as he was deemed surplus by Maurizio Sarri.
The 34-year-old has only made six Premier League appearances this season, as Sarri opted for a three-way midfielder with Jorginho as a focal point.
Fabregas, however, congratulated Jorginho ahead of Italy’s 3-0 victory over Turkey in their Euro 2020.
He said on BBC One: “One of the main reasons I left Chelsea is because of him (Jorginho).
“He’s a very smart, intelligent player, a very good passer. The only thing I can say about him sometimes is that he drops the ball too fast so he can play forward.
“He spins the team. “
