Facebook launches its own cryptocurrency Libra

The effort Facebook is doing with this project is enormous. It's not just a small sideline in the business of one of the largest technology companies in the world, but a strategic move. "We are looking for ways in which as many of our users as possible can send money to each other." In April, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg himself proclaimed: "Payments will become a really important part of our business."
