The Austrian brand SELENACARE heralds the new age of menstrual hygiene and launches period underwear for teenagers.

Uncertainty, shame, and anxiety are the most common feelings people associate with their first bleed. Periods are still a social taboo that people don’t like to talk about. This is also shown by surveys, such as those recently conducted by the Opinium Research Institute: According to them, a quarter of the participants do not understand their own cycle. Almost a third of those surveyed feel embarrassed to talk about their period.[1]

The Austrian brand SELENACARE would now like to show alternatives and take away the fear of the first period in teenagers. Finally, 70 percent of Gen Z say they want to learn more about the cycle.[2] Period newcomers* can make menarche a comfortable experience with a collection of washable period underwear specially designed for teens. Period panties look like underwear, but protect like a pad thanks to the integrated insert.

SELENACARE has developed a wide range of sustainable hygiene products that are not only good for users but also for the environment. In addition to period underwear, the company also offers menstrual cups, washable pads, panty liners and underwear for mild bladder weakness. More than 600,000 customers already trust SELENACARE. The sustainable hygiene articles are commercially available throughout Europe (dm, Bipa, Müller, Rossmann, Budni, Globus, Kaufland, etc.).
