Showdown in Potsdam: boxing talent Vincent Feigenbutz leaves the Duisburg-based Yusuf Kanguel once again as the winner. Now he has his long-term goal firmly in sight.
Boxing pro Vincent Feigenbutz won the fight for the Intercontinental title of boxing association GBU against Yusuf Kanguel. The 23-year-old from Karlsruhe defeated the Duisburg Kanguel in the sixth round by technical K.o. and left the ring for the 29th time in 31 professional fights (26 by K.o.) as the winner. It was the eighth victory in a row for "Iron Junior". After the fifth round, Kanguel coach Ahmet Öner stepped into the ring and threw in the towel.
The 32-year-old Kanguel, who works full-time as a parcel courier, was already the second substitute opponent for Feigenbutz. The fight came only after the injured Ronny Mittag (Fürstenwalde) and Toni Kraft (Munich) had canceled. Nevertheless, Boxtalent Feigenbutz was able to adjust well to the new opponent and solved his task sovereign. Feigenbutz had announced prior to the fight to want to send Kanguel on the boards before the full distance, "Anything but a clear win over Kanguel would be a bitter disappointment to me," he announced in advance.
Thus, the 23-year-old managed from the start more punches than Kanguel and clear results to place. Although Kanguel, who has been unbeaten in nine fights, defended Feigenbutz but ultimately not enough precision.
The goal is the World Cup fight
In addition to the Intercontinental title of the GBU is Feigenbutz Intercontinental Champion of the IBF.His single fight so far for one of the most important belt of boxing, he lost in January 2016 against the Italian Giovanni de Carolis. At that time Feigenbutz was in the duel for the WBA title after technical K.o. inferior.
Before the fight against Kanguel Feigenbutz made it clear that he already thinks one step further: "Now you have to see what kind of offers come after the fight, I want to go up! Of course, I'm always ready for a title fight." In the long term, Feigenbutz is again aiming for a world championship fight. After his victory he has now recommended again. Maybe Feigenbutz's dream could come true in January 2019 against the Berlin Arthur Abraham.
