The Attorney General of Justice of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) accredited the participation of a minor in the femicide of a 15-year-old teenager, whose body was located inside the facilities of the Autonomous University of Chapingo, in December 2019 , wrongful for which he was sentenced to five years of internment.
This is the highest sentence that a minor can receive, in accordance with the National Law of the Comprehensive Criminal Justice System for Adolescents.
After reviewing the evidence collected and provided by this Social Representation, a Judge Specializing in Adolescents issued this detention measure against the accused, and set him a fine of 1,558,682 pesos as compensation for moral and material damage.
The crime for which he was convicted occurred on December 23, 2019, when the lifeless body of the victim identified as Nazareth was located, at the facilities of the aforementioned campus, in the municipality of Texcoco.
It is worth mentioning that the minor had been reported as not located on December 19 of that year, so an Amber Alert was activated; In addition, in coordination with elements of the Secretariat of Security of the State of Mexico, municipal police officers from Texcoco and representatives of the University itself, search brigades were carried out within the campus.
As a result of the discovery of the young woman, in a receiver of water for treatment, various field and cabinet proceedings were carried out by the specialized prosecutors of the Special Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation and Prosecution of Crimes in Matters of Enforced Disappearance and Disappearance Committed by Individuals ; Femicides, and Adolescents, to identify, locate and arrest the probable participant in these events.
With the evidence gathered by the FGJEM Investigative Police, the Specialized Public Ministry for Adolescents asked a judge for an arrest warrant for the crime of feminicide against the 15-year-old minor, for his probable participation in these acts.
The minor apprehended was transferred to the Quinta del Bosque Internment Center for Adolescents, in Zinacantepec, where he was placed at the disposal of a specialized judge, who, after a legal process, issued this sentence.
