Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) – The number of corona cases in North Rhine-Westphalia continues to decline. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported a seven-day incidence of 19.8 on Saturday. On Friday, 20.6 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants were registered nationwide within a week.

Only Hagen (45.0) and Bonn (40.6) were above the threshold of 35. Since Saturday, the two cities have been the only municipalities in North Rhine-Westphalia for which the regulations of incidence level 3 still apply. Meetings in public spaces are still only allowed for people from two households.

Most cities and districts now have level 1. On Saturday, Bielefeld, Gelsenkirchen, Krefeld and Remscheid slipped into this level. Single figures are now reached in five municipalities. The NRW health authorities reported a total of 491 new infections to the RKI within one day. The number of deaths rose by 31 nationwide.
