«FIFA» arrives in Morocco to examine the file hosting the World Cup 2026

Morocco’s bid to host the 2016 World Cup will be scrutinized by a technical committee of the International Federation of the World Federation (FIFA) which arrived on Monday in a visit to assess the country’s readiness to host the tournament. Morocco is the only country to compete in a tripartite bid by the United States, Canada and Mexico. The FIFA general assembly is due to decide on the winning bid in Moscow on June 13, the eve of the opening of the 2018 World Cup hosted by Russia. The committee, which consists of five people, will visit several Moroccan cities from April 17 to 19, as well as several stadiums, training camps and spaces for FIFA fans and media centers, as well as other spaces related to organizing the international football competition. The Commission will use a point-based system to evaluate the two competing bids, with the offer failing to meet the minimum standards in several areas and preventing it from advancing to the General Assembly for a final vote in Russia. “Morocco offers an innovative and integrated concept, ensuring field effectiveness, excellent profits and a great and lasting legacy for Morocco and Africa as a whole,” said Moulay Hafiz Alami, head of the committee responsible for Morocco’s file. He added: Moroccan officials will seek to highlight the vision of candidacy, which is characterized by passion and enthusiasm and determination. The show reflects Moroccan fans’ passion for football, their geographical location close to Europe and their climate. Morocco failed four times in qualifying for the World Cup in 1994, 1998, 2006 and 2010, despite its proximity on three occasions.
